MyLaps Orbits

Stream live laps from MyLaps Orbits through its RMonitor output, or import a results or passings CSV after the session.

Orbits is MyLaps’ timing and scoring software. It can emit the RMonitor protocol over TCP, which Outlap’s timing bridge relays to the live board.

Live

  1. Enable RMonitor output.

In Orbits, go to Tools → Options → Interfaces and enable RMonitor output. Note the TCP port; the default is 50000.

  2. Run the bridge on the timing PC (or any machine that can reach it):

    node bridge.mjs --event <eventId> --key <outlapApiKey> --host 127.0.0.1 --port 50000 --vendor orbits
  3. Confirm in Race Control.

The Live feed panel should turn green. Add or check transponders under Transponders & numbers.

Details, options and reliability behaviour are on the timing bridge page.

After the session: file import

If there’s no live link, export results from Orbits and use Import timing in Race Control’s lap entry. Outlap detects Orbits files automatically from headings such as Lap Tm and Tm of Day. See File import for the columns recognised.

Which records are used

Orbits’ RMonitor output carries the standard record set: flags ($F), run name ($B), classes ($C), competitors ($A, $COMP), running order ($G), best laps ($H) and completed laps ($J). See the RMonitor reference.
