AI setup engineer

Get tyre, suspension, aero, gearing and driving-style recommendations tuned to your car, the circuit, live weather and your experience level.

The AI setup engineer, Ross, generates a setup recommendation and a target lap time from what you tell it about the day.

What goes in

InputWhy it matters
Your vehicleMake, model, category and what you’ve fitted: the baseline for every recommendation.
The circuitLayout, surface notes and, for many circuits, a knowledge base the AI draws on.
WeatherCurrent conditions and a 7-day forecast, including estimated track surface temperatures.
Your experience levelFeeds pace targets and how conservative the setup is. Be honest: it produces better advice.
DisciplineTrack day, circuit racing, drift (including tandem strategy), karting, open-wheel or closed-wheel.

What comes out

A structured recommendation covering tyres, suspension, aero, gearing and driving style, with a target lap time. Sections are colour-coded so you can scan them at the track.

Run it

  1. Start the wizard from the home page or Setup in the app. You don’t need an account to explore, but you need a free one to save setups.

  2. Pick your car from your garage, or enter one.

  3. Choose the circuit and date. Weather is pulled in automatically.

  4. Answer the experience and goal questions, then generate.

  5. Save it. Saved setups appear under My setups.

Share and take it trackside

  • Every setup has a public share link and one-tap WhatsApp sharing.
  • Export a setup as a print-ready PDF to take trackside.
  • Event and saved setups stay available offline after you’ve opened them; generating a new one needs a connection.

Outlap Pro: the live race engineer

Setups are free. Outlap Pro is an optional subscription that adds the live AI race engineer during the day. It’s billed monthly and cancels any time. See pricing.

Use your setups from an AI assistant

Connect the MCP server and an assistant can list and summarise your saved setups.
